“As grandson and great-grandson of watchmakers, my attraction to the art of watchmaking dates back to my earliest years. All its multiple facets fascinate me and appeal to my enquiring mind.” The words of Cyril Brivet-Naudot, the young French watchmaker who spent three years designing and building a unique creation: a watch entirely made by hand (without using any type of CNC machine), a combination of high technology, simplicity and elegance as well as the very best know-how and considerable artisan workmanship.

“The movement of a timepiece, its chimes and imagining what they might announce move me like poetry, as does watchmaker terminology, taking me from secret to surprise. For me, restoring old watches is to plunge into the astonishing savoir-faire of past masters, acknowledging their legacy and admiring the genius of their ideas. This ability was done without the technology that is now available to us, without today’s materials and without electricity. Meanwhile, creation provides the satisfying opportunity to invest in a blank page, to design and build watches, seeking harmony in my own way. The creative process is like life itself, where time continues to move forward incessantly: it implies constantly challenging everything that lies ahead.”
